When Daniel was first elected to the House of Representatives, Illinois’ finances were in shambles. Our state’s credit was approaching junk status, there was a massive backlog of unpaid bills, and irresponsible budgeting was threatening the ability of our schools, law enforcement, and social service agencies to provide the services that our community relies upon.
Now, Illinois’ finances are the strongest they have been in decades. Daniel helped pass four balanced budgets that have eliminated the state’s bill backlog, stabilized the long-term outlook of our pension systems, and earned six upgrades from the credit rating agencies. At the same time, Daniel helped secure unprecedented financial investments in our local infrastructure, our local law enforcement, and our local schools.
